What is NDIS and How Does It Support You?
NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme, which is a new way of providing services for Australians with disability, their families, and carers. NDIS Eligibility and Access
To access NDIS support, you must live in Australia and meet one of the following residency requirements:
- Be an Australian citizen
- Hold a Permanent Visa
- Hold a Protected Special Category Visa
You may also be eligible if you were in Australia on a Special Category Visa on 26 February 2001, or if you had lived in Australia for at least 12 months within the 2 years before that date and later returned to Australia.
Additionally, applicants must be under 65 years of age at the time of applying for NDIS support.
3. Permanent or significant disability which limits your ability to participate effectively in activities of daily living and/or capacity to participate in social and economic activities
